kim freyhagen's twilight art

Kim Freyhagen, maiden name Robertson, born September 4, 1964, in Montreal, Canada.

Attended the Art Students League of New York, where I mentored under Steven R. Kidd, known to students as Joe Kidd, American illustrator.  As an adolescent, unaware of his fame I only knew Joe Kidd as a wonderful instructor and grandfather figure.

The Art Students League of NY offered a consecutive scholarship but I graciously declined to fulfill my desire to attain a college degree.  My decision enabled me to study abroad in London and received credited courses in British Literature and History.

Enrolled into the World Tae Kwon Do, an art within itself and received 1st degree black belt in less than three years under Grand Master Duk Sung Son, 9th degree Black Belt.

Received an Associates degree in Social Science from Westchester Community, and a Bachelor of Science in Art from Pace University.  Due to low funds and desire for adventure, I joined the Active Duty Army, transferred into the Air Force, and recently retired after a total of 24 years in the military.

The military afforded me the opportunity to donate several charcoal and pen and ink drawings for the annual Tuskegee Airmen scholarship awards dinner at Stewart Air National Guard base Newburgh, New York.  Another base organization, The Chief Master Sergeant Council requested a pencil replication of a Native American Chief, displayed at the Pentagon, headquarters of the US Department of Defense, located in Arlington County, Virginia.  As luck would have it, I was tasked to work at the Pentagon on a temporary tour.

Additional shows occurred at the White Plains Civic Center, Brotherhood Winery, Washingtonville, NY, Franklin D. Roosevelt House, Hyde Park, NY.  I am presently a new member at the Wallkill River Art School, Montgomery NY.
